the 3rd annual "Out & about Norfolk" Plein Air Paint Out.
60+ painters hit the streets of Norfolk with their easels, canvases and paints.
The artists work for two full days, capturing the sights and sites of the city.
The third day, they turn their framed creations in - and the works are
exhibited and offered for sale at THE WET PAINTING SALE,
the historic Monticello Arcade.

What IS a Plein Air Paint Out? 
Artists will paint outdoors, "plein air", in Norfolk for 2 days.
Each artist may compete for awards, by submitting 2 finished pieces
at the end of the 2-day paint out.
"Plein Air" is French, for "out in the open air". The painters choose
many different subjects, to capture on canvas and paper.
All of the work must be done, from "life", and during the hours of the
Out & About Paint Out.
When they finish working, the artists exhibit their work, framed, at the annual
"WET PAINTING SALE & AWARDS RECEPTION"  in the historic, art deco,
Monticello Arcade - on Saturday, October 24th, 6 to 8pm.
Out & About Norfolk attracts artists from all throughout the mid-Atlantic states
. . . and beyond. Many different styles, mediums and approaches to painting are represented.
Subject matter is "all about Norfolk", but each artist finds their own niche -
and expresses themself in their own distinct way.

Reception, HeavyNibbles and Awards.
This night is a great art opportunity for Tidewater collectors -
whether your art "collection" is large or small . . . established or just
in the very beginning stages.

There is Something for Everyone at the Wet Painting Sale.
(and it is ALOT of fun!)
Doors open at 6pm. No art will be sold before 6pm.
If you love original art, You Are Invited! 
There is a $10/per person "At-the-Door-Donation"
which helps fund the awards and reception. 
Purchase ART . . .
and your $10 will be deducted from the total of your purchase!

will remain on exhibit for "Our Town, Norfolk", a plein-air exhibition.

(The Monticello Arcade is closed to the public, on the weekends . . .
