Adopt an Artist Locations

These businesses and individuals are very excited about the possibility of having an artist paint their "little corner of Norfolk". Some of them have ideas as to what they would like depicted . . . but most just like the idea of having a painting done of their home or business, and being able to observe the process.
They are under no obligation to choose a piece of art . . .
but all seem enthusiastic about this art-adventure!
There are restaurants, shops, gardens, marinas, homes - both historic and contemporary - offices, theatres and many natural landscape situations, in which to paint.

Photos with AA following the name are Adopt an Artist Locations.
All others are "on your own" locations.  ARTISTS will need to find their own restroom facilities and arrange for their own lunch.

NOTES FOR PARTICIPATING ARTISTS:
We will be limited to 2 artists per residential home or business front each day. Parks, waterways, and city streets allow us to spread out more unobtrusively - so don't worry about an artist limit at those sites. Please observe all normal etiquette, don't block driveways or set up too close to fire hydrants, etc . . . . and be sure and leave your surroundings as neat (or better), than you found them.

We need a wide variety of subject matter, and I'm sure that with all our creative juices flowing - we'll end up with an interesting, stimulating exhibition.

REMEMBER . . . You are not limited to the Adopt-an-Artist locations, they are merely there for your convenience.
If you have been eyeing another "view", then by all means -
"go for it"!  We have 2 full painting days, and there's an entire city-full of subjects to choose from!

If you have time before Thursday . . .
you might want to do some scouting, and have a firm idea of where you'd like to set up.
If you are sure of your choice, you can email the studio and I'll put your name on the "chart". I want to have an idea where to find everyone, to get some photos for the press and the website. And I'd like to have artists spread out among all of our hosting sites.

Each artist will be allowed 2 entries in the exhibition.
So, you may be able to move to several different locations
before NOON on Saturday, when the work is due back at the Monticello Arcade. You may have extra canvases stamped, at the Artists' breakfast on Thurs morning . . .
and then turn in your 2 best efforts!

Use your great Artists' Eyes to find some really intriquing places to set up your easels . . . AND PAINT!   Let's "show 'em Norfolk" -  like they've never seen it before! -  karen kinser
